Certainly Education has made all the difference for me. My parents came from the most humble of origins: my Mom grew up in Albuquerque where she cleaned homes and picked cotton, and my Dad grew up in Massachusetts as a state ward – by law an orphan – where he lived with 7 different families. After high school, my Dad enlisted in the Air Force, and while serving at Walker AFB, he met and married my Mom. She became a nurse, he sold insurance. Their 4th son – me – would go on to serve as one of the most senior members in the Executive Office of the President!
